About H55

As the technological spin-off of Solar Impulse, the first electric airplane to fly around the world, the mission of H55 is to make aviation clean, safe, and affordable. H55 exists to accelerate this transition by building the certification-grade energy platform that electric aviation needs to scale, delivering energy storage systems that are predictable, provably safe, and trusted by authorities, insurers, and OEMs. Because in aviation, innovation only matters when it can fly.

At H55, you will work with a forward-looking team shaping the future of air transportation. Our team brings together experienced engineers, entrepreneurs, and industry experts who combine creativity, innovation, and strong technical expertise.

We believe that diverse perspectives lead to better engineering and stronger teams, and we are committed to building an inclusive workplace.

About the role

As part of the Manufacturing team, reporting to the Head of Production Organization, you will play a key role in building and refining prototypes that support the development of our electric propulsion systems.

You will work hands-on with engineers and process specialists to assemble, test, and improve components while contributing to the development and optimization of manufacturing methods.

Your work will directly support the transition from prototype to industrialized, certifiable production.
Main responsibilities

  • Build and assemble prototypes of aerospace components and subsystems, including energy storage systems
  • Support the development and validation of manufacturing processes together with process engineers
  • Operate and set up production machines and equipment
  • Prepare materials, tools, and fixtures for prototype builds and process trials
  • Assist in troubleshooting manufacturing processes and identifying production issues
  • Collect and record process data, including parameters, results, and observations during testing
  • Support process trials and experiments to evaluate materials and manufacturing methods
  • Maintain clear documentation and logs for prototype builds and process tests
  • Ensure proper handling of materials and compliance with safety procedures
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams during development and validation phases

Your Profile

  • CFC in polymechanics, micromechanics, manufacturing, materials, or equivalent
  • Experience in a similar role (typically 3+ years) in manufacturing, prototyping, or industrial environments
  • Hands-on experience with manufacturing processes and machine operation
  • Good understanding of engineering materials (metals, composites, polymers, etc.)
  • Experience in prototype fabrication, assembly, and testing
  • Ability to read and follow technical drawings, work instructions, and engineering documentation
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation
  • Proficiency in English (French is a plus)

What We Offer

  • The opportunity to work on cutting-edge electric aviation technology with real-world impact
  • A collaborative, international, and purpose-driven team
  • Opportunities to grow into technical or leadership roles
  • A flexible and supportive work environment
  • An exceptional work location in Sion, Valais, in the heart of the Swiss Alps

You will have a direct impact on our products and on how we design and build them, working closely with cross-functional teams in a fast-evolving environment.

We are building a team where diverse perspectives are essential to solving complex engineering challenges and delivering safe, certifiable systems. If this role excites you but you don’t tick every box, we encourage you to apply.
